We are a player pool system. Soccer teams are formed based on school grade and birth year of its players. Certain circumstances enable players to “play up” on teams older than themselves, such as a player on 16B playing for the 15B team. We may ask your player to “play down” a school grade if they are birth year eligible. However, players can never “play down” by playing on teams whose birth year is later than their own.
We typically have big rosters because of our commitment to supporting multi sport athletes. However, if we have a lot of sign ups for the same birth year we will make two teams for that age group. Players will be in a player pool system for both teams in order to work around everyone’s schedule.
Fall: 2 practices per week
Winter: 1 practice per week (skipping holidays)
Spring: 2 practices per week
Summer: No team practices until preseason before school starts
We will play 1 game per weekend unless the league changes our schedule for any reason.
We aim to compete in all of our games. If the game is competitive, playing time is earned by practice attendance, but more importantly by a players positive attitude, work ethic, and skill. All games and practices are “mandatory”. Excused absences include family vacation, summer camps, school/sports events, illness, and family or religious conflicts. Absences must be approved by a coach or team manager.
Registration for the club covers the entire 2024-2025 soccer year:
Club dues can be paid in full or in monthly installments.
Winter league and fun tournaments are on a team by team basis.
These are to be purchased at Not Just Soccer (NJS) and while ordering online is available, for first-time purchases, we strongly recommend going into NJS to try on the uniforms and warmups because, we have learned, players may need different sizes for tops and bottoms.
If a player prefers a specific jersey number, they may request it by asking the coach. However, jersey numbers 7, 9, 10 and 11 cannot be requested and are assigned by the coach. Jersey numbers are assigned based on availability in the player’s current team, and in some cases, available numbers in the team one year older, in case they play for any reason.
Following the proper line of communication is imperative to club operations at Master Joga, which is why we have a Chain of Communication Policy. Understanding and acting in accordance with this policy protects your intentions and builds our trust and confidence in you as a parent.
Master Joga’s Chain of Communication Policy states that when concerns arise, the following process must be honored:
Parent -> Team Manager -> Coach -> Director of Coaching -> Leadership
Private skills are paid separately to the coach and are not included in team player fees. Privates do not guarantee playing time or your selection to be on the team. Players may train with any skills trainers that they feel will maximize their development.
We may ask guest players to help a team if there won’t be enough players for a game because of absences, or to help the team develop on the field. We will always have our players best interest in mind. Guest players/families will be good vibes only.
Master Joga is all about creating and playing in a bully-free, drama-free zone when it comes to teammates, coaches, league officials (including refs), and fellow team parents. As soon as a Master Joga coach is informed of or has evidence of bullying on their team, they will immediately address this with the player that is instigating the bullying, as well as their parents. If the situation does not improve, the bully will be asked to leave the team for the duration of the season. The goal is always to reach a resolution and to change the behavior, however, negativity like this cannot be tolerated in team sports. As you would in any other professional environment, we ask that you respect your player’s team coach and if there is ever a misunderstanding, work with them so that is no longer the case. When it comes to soccer, allow your player’s soccer coach to do their job.
We appreciate your understanding and support of building a positive vibe, bully-free, drama-free zone for our players and coaches.
